The last 30 years of Dirk’s life was devoted to teaching IT skills to students with a range of mobility and ability challenges. He was much loved by his pupils, having an empathetic nature given his own loss of vision. Pops travelled to the UK twice over this period which was great joy for him to spend time with his eldest granddaughters and meet one of his great grand kids. It was an eternal lament of his that his grandkids were lost to him through geography and circumstance. Know that he loved you all and would have loved to spend more time with you.
